The Enigmail add-on is no longer available for Thunderbird 78 except to assist its former users with migrating to the built-in OpenPGP support or getting guidance how to restore their Enigmail “Junior Mode” user experience.
Previous versions of Thunderbird (version 68 and before) had built-in S/MIME support, and it was possible to add OpenPGP support using the Enigmail add-on and GnuPG software. OpenPGP has been enabled by default since version 78.2.1.
